Card Games

Card games are loved by many, as they are small, portable, and easy to teach anyone how to play. The standard deck of cards for the most common card games include either 52 or 54 cards. There are two cards that may or may not be used in a game, which are the Jokers. Jokers are wild cards that can represent any other card, and tend to be used to improve a set. The standard cards in many card games include four suits of cards running between the numbers 2 and 10. In addition to these cards, there are Face cards, which include the Jack, Queen, King and Ace. The Ace is a special card, and can be either the lowest card you can have, or the highest card you can have. It can be used as either a 1, or a card worth more than the King.

Many card games are based upon the idea of sets or tricks. In Poker, there are certain hands of cards that are worth more than others. For example, a two, three, four, five and seven is considered the worst hand that you can get in poker, as long as the cards are of different suits. On the other hand, the best hand in poker is the ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace all of the same suit. This is called the Royal Straight Flush. Other hands in poker include the pair, three of a kind, flush, straight, four of a kind, straight flush and full house.

In card games like Rummy, the goal is often to make matches of cards. For example, you will want to get a set of four aces, four twos, and so on and so forth. Both Rummy and Poker tend to be played in groups.

In addition to card games like Rummy and Poker, there are cooperative games. The most famous cooperative game is believed to be Euchre. Euchre is a game involving two teams of two. All players keep their cards secret, and try to win tricks as a team. Unlike many card games, Euchre involves secrecy from your opponents and from your teammate. A good Euchre player reveals nothing, while working to assist their partner in the winning of tricks.

When you are learning card games, it is suggested that you play the games online against other beginners, as computer assisted card games use official rules. By learning official rules, you will be better able to adjust to whatever house rules you may encounter in the future.
